Dear All,
We have just launched our special issue of the journal Cultural
Anthropology on the self-immolations in Tibet co-edited by Carole
McGranahan and Ralph Litzinger. The issue includes 21 essays from Tibet
scholars and writers, some of which are directly related to Buddhist
studies, as well as a large compendium of background links, reporting, and
analyses about the self-immolations. Contributors include: Kevin Carrico,
Sienna Craig, Giovanni da Col, Andrew Fischer, Janet Gyatso, Losang Gyatso,
Ralph Litzinger, Charlene Makley, Carole McGranahan, Tenzin Mingyur
Paldron, Dechen Pemba, Dhondup Tashi Rekjong, Leigh Sangster, Tsering
Shakya, Elliot Sperling, Gillian Tan, Cameron David Warner, Woeser, Emily
